The most ancient times of all are called 'the beginning', and are throughout the Prophets referred to as 'days of antiquity' and also 'days of eternity'. 'The beginning' also embodies within it that first Period when a person is being regenerated, for at that time he is being born anew and receiving life. Regeneration itself is therefore called a new creation of man. Almost everywhere in the prophetical sections 'to create', 'to form', and 'to make' mean to regenerate, though each of these verbs has a different shade of meaning, as in Isaiah,

Every one who is called by My name - I have created him for My glory, I have formed him, I have also made him. Isa. 43:7

This is why the Lord is called Redeemer, One who forms from the womb, Maker, and also Creator, as in the same prophet,

I am Jehovah, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King. Isa. 43:15.

In David,

A people to be created will praise Jah. Ps. 102:18.

In the same author,

You send forth Your Spirit; they are created; and You renewest the face* of the ground. Ps. 104:30.

'Heaven' means the internal man, and 'earth' the external man prior to regeneration. This will be seen further on.

Verse 2 And the earth was a void and an emptiness, and there was thick darkness over the face* of the deep; and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face* of the waters. The person who has yet to be regenerated is called 'a void and an empty earth', and also 'ground', in which no good or truth at all has been sown - 'void' where there is no good, and 'empty' where there is no truth. Consequently there is 'thick darkness', or stupidity and lack of knowledge about anything that has to do with faith in the Lord and so anything that has to do with spiritual and celestial life. This kind of person is described by the Lord through Jeremiah,

My people are foolish, they know Me not; they are stupid children, having no understanding; they are wise to do evil, and know not how to do good. I looked to the earth, and, behold, a void and an emptiness; and towards the heavens, and they had no light. Jer. 4:22, 23, 25.

'The face* of the deep' is that person's desires and resulting falsities, of which he consists and in which he is completely absorbed; and because he has no light at all he is like the deep, or something thoroughly obscure. Throughout the Word such people are also called 'the deep' and 'the depths of the sea' which are dried up or laid waste until a person's regeneration starts, as in Isaiah,

Awake as in the days of antiquity, the generations of long ago. Was it not You that did dry up the sea, the waters of the great deep; making the depths of the sea a road for the redeemed to go across? Let the ransomed of Jehovah return. Isa. 51:9-11.

Furthermore, when looked at from heaven, this kind of person resembles a darkened mass with no life to it. The same expressions embody within them in general the vastation in man, described many times by the Prophets, which precedes regeneration. For before a person can know what truth is, or be moved by good, the things that hinder and offer resistance must be removed. Thus the old man must die before the new one can be conceived.

'The Spirit of God' is used to mean the Lord's mercy, which is said 'to hover', like a hen over eggs, over what the Lord stores away in man and which in the Word are frequently called 'remnants'. These remnants are cognitions of truth and good which never come to light or into daylight until external things have been laid waste. These cognitions are here called 'the face* of the waters'.

I tempi più antichi di tutti sono chiamati 'inizio la', e sono in tutti i profeti di cui come 'giorno dell'antichità' e anche 'giorno di eternità'. 'L'inizio' incarna anche al suo interno quel primo periodo quando una persona viene rigenerata, perché in quel tempo che sta nascendo di nuovo e la ricezione di vita. La rigenerazione è quindi chiamata una nuova creazione dell'uomo. Quasi ovunque nelle sezioni profetiche 'a creare', 'per formare', e 'fare' significa rigenerare, anche se ciascuno di questi verbi ha una differente sfumatura di significato, come in Isaia,

Ognuno che è chiamato il mio nome - io l'ho creato per la mia gloria, io l'ho formato, ho anche fatto di lui. Isa. 43:7

Questo è il perché il Signore è chiamato Redentore, Colui che forma dal grembo è anche Creatore, come nello stesso profeta,

Io sono il Signore, il vostro Santo, il creatore di Israele, il vostro re. Isa. 43:15.

Un popolo che verranno create lodare Jah. Ps. 102:18.

In uno stesso autore,

'Paradiso' significa l'uomo interno, e 'terra' l'uomo esterno prima della rigenerazione. Ciò si vedrà più avanti.

Verse 2 E la terra era un vuoto e un vuoto, e si fece buio * spessi sulla faccia dell'abisso e lo Spirito di Dio aleggiava sulla * superficie delle acque. La persona che deve ancora essere rigenerata è chiamata 'un vuoto e una terra vuota', e anche 'la terra', nella quale nessun bene o verità è stato seminato - 'vuoto' in cui non c'è alcun bene, e 'vuoto' dove non c'è verità. Di conseguenza c'e 'buio fitto', o stupidità e la mancanza di conoscenza su tutto ciò che ha a che fare con la fede nel Signore e in modo tutto ciò che ha a che fare con la vita spirituale e celeste. Questo tipo di persona è descritta dal Signore per mezzo di Geremia,

Il mio popolo è stolto, perché non sanno di me, ma sono bambini stupidi, non avendo alcuna comprensione, sono bravi a fare il male, e non sanno come fare il bene. Ho guardato alla terra, ed ecco, un vuoto e un vuoto, e verso i cieli, e non avevano luce. Ger. 4:22, 23, 25.

'Il * volto del profondo' sono i desideri di cui è costituita quella persona e le falsità che ne derivano, e nel quale viene completamente assorbito, e perché non ha affatto luce è come il profondo, o qualcosa di completamente oscuro. Dappertutto la Parola chiama queste persone 'profondo' e 'profondo del mare', nel senso che sono inariditi o di cui i rifiuti fino a quando la rigenerazione di una persona ha inizio, come in Isaia,

Svegliati come nei giorni dell'antichità, le generazioni di un tempo. Non sei stato tu che hai fatto asciugare il mare, le acque del grande abisso, rendendo le profondità del mare una strada da attraversare per i redenti? Lasciate che il riscattato ritorni da Geova. Isa. 51:9-11.

Inoltre, quando era guardata dal cielo, questo tipo di persona assomigliava a una massa buia senza vita in essa. Le stesse espressioni incorporano al loro interno in generale la vastità dell'uomo, descritto più volte dai profeti, che precede la rigenerazione. Prima che una persona possa sapere cosa sia la verità, o essere mossi dal bene, le cose che ostacolano e offrono resistenza devono essere rimosse. Così il vecchio deve morire prima che il nuovo può essere concepito.

'Lo Spirito di Dio' viene usato per indicare la misericordia del Signore, che si dice 'a librarsi', come una gallina sulle uova, su ciò che il Signore memorizza via in uomo e che nella Parola vengono spesso chiamati 'resti'. Questi resti sono cognizioni di verità e di bene che non vengono mai alla luce o alla luce del giorno fino a quando le cose esterne sono state devastate. Queste cognizioni sono qui chiamato '* superficie delle acque'.
